My bucket list… first up, a marathon!

Category Archives: Uncategorized

Hey everyone,

So…. the past two weeks have been chaotic, to say the least. I worked 86 hours in the past two weeks, ran a ton, had both sides of the family in town, and my brothers moving out in a week to start college. So unfortunately, this blog didn’t get enough attention. Sooooo without further ado, here is my recap of the past two weeks of running:

Week 10:

Mon, July 23rd – 5 miles

Tues & Wed – Rest

Thurs – 8

Fri – 4

Sat – 12

Sun – 4

For a total of 33 miles!

And week 11:

Mon, July 30th – 6 miles

Tues – Rest

Wed – Rest

Thurs – Rest

Fri – 8

Sat – 6

Sun – Rest

For a sad total of 20 miles 😦 Needless to say, this was a crazy week at work and unfortunately my running suffered. BUT, I have more time this week to run and I can’t wait to get my mileage up again!

Happy running!

Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about The Impossible List?! (https://kellyelli333.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/the-impossible-list/) Well, I finally started my own! It’s definitely a work in progress, and probably always will be, but I like it that way! For those of you who are wondering what exactly this list means, it is basically a list of things I want to do because they seem impossible but are fully achievable when you dedicate time and plan ahead! It is slightly different than a bucket list because it has a different goal, but most of the things on this list would also be on my bucket list.

So without further ado, here is the beginning of my impossible list:

So, I just discovered this AWESOME blog called “The Impossible List”
I loved it so much, I had to quote the entire first page of the website, so here it is…
It really inspires me and rings true to why I am running a marathon in the first place. I hope I can do similar things in the future!
Here is the website: http://joelrunyon.com/two3/the-impossible-list

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible” – Walt Disney

The impossible list is NOT a bucket list. I used to settle for the possible things in life. The sure thing. The safe choice. It was safe, it was realistic and it was boring as hell. But there was a problem: everything that was “possible” was too easy. I needed a challenge.

The impossible list is that challenge. This list of impossible things contains all the things I ever thought I couldn’t do because it was “impossible.” The sort of things that I assumed the cool guys on TV only ever got to do. The things I never thought that would be able to do.

This is my list of impossible things. I’m constantly crossing things off it as I accomplish them and adding to it when needed and I’ll be making regular updates about my journey on the blog.Maybe you’re bored, maybe you’re tired of simply attempting what’s considered “possible”, maybe you just want to try something different. This blog is for you.

Feel free to follow my journey via RSS or Email or start your own impossible list if you feel like it. If you do, send me an email and let me know. I’d love to hear about it what impossible things you’re doing. If you’d like to help make any of these impossible things happen – let me know – I’m all ears.

Hey everyone! Last time, I posted pictures as a source of inspiration, so this time I’m going to focus on words of inspiration! I have found them very motivating and touching, so I hope you feel the same way! I will try my best to cite the website I got them from.

“Live your life out loud!” They sing. “You deserve a brilliant life!”

…It’s about intuition, gratitude, power and connection. It’s about living a life filled to the brim with JOY.

It’s about believing with all of my heart what Pat B. Allen told me,

“We owe it to the world to be as ALIVE as we can. To give what is unique in us to give.”

http://www.michellegardella.com/blog/?paged=3

“You started something. You were passionate and in love with the ideas swirling and twirling in your heart and you were vibrating on a super high plane all ready to shoot off into the sky and burst with light and life and rain down millions of golden stars onto the Earth.

And then you stopped.

Something slowed you down. You got tired. You had a child, or took a 9-5 job, or both. You forgot what it was you were so excited about in the first place. You lost sight of the sky.

I give you permission to start again.

Go.” http://www.michellegardella.com/blog/?paged=5

Building something new, living outside your comfort zone and making peace with the possibility that all your efforts are being spent in vain is HARD. Hard as in scary, tiring, complex, complicating, filled with rejection, laborious, tempestuous, grinding, merciless and unrelenting (and yes, I got all of those words using Thesaurus.com).

also, I just read this post and thought it was really sweet! http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/pictures-that-will-restore-your-faith-in-humanity It makes me want to reach out to a stranger and help them, even if it’s in a small way!

lastly, here are two youtube videos that are just too cute to pass up!

Bohemian Rhapsody on the way to school: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU-Uwl7AZ7o&feature=player_embedded

and Best marriage proposal ever? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yNdpaSBTzo&feature=player_embedded

Enjoy!

Ok, thats all for now! I’ve got to go but I’ll definitely try to do more inspiration posts in the future!
