So…. the past two weeks have been chaotic, to say the least. I worked 86 hours in the past two weeks, ran a ton, had both sides of the family in town, and my brothers moving out in a week to start college. So unfortunately, this blog didn’t get enough attention. Sooooo without further ado, here is my recap of the past two weeks of running:
Mon, July 23rd – 5 miles
Tues & Wed – Rest
Thurs – 8
Fri – 4
Sat – 12
Sun – 4
For a total of 33 miles!
And week 11:
Mon, July 30th – 6 miles
Tues – Rest
Wed – Rest
Thurs – Rest
Fri – 8
Sat – 6
Sun – Rest
For a sad total of 20 miles 😦 Needless to say, this was a crazy week at work and unfortunately my running suffered. BUT, I have more time this week to run and I can’t wait to get my mileage up again!
Okay, this week was crazy! My relatives are here from out of town and I worked a ton, so I only got 3 runs in! Very hectic week…
Tues 6 miles
Thurs 8 miles
Sun 11 miles
For a whopping total of 25 miles! I am definitely shooting for much better this week…
Well, I hope everyone is having a great week! Keep on running!
Alright, I hope everyones having a great week! Here is my recap of this week:
Mon – Rest
Tues – 10 miles
Wed – Rest
Thurs – 5 miles
Fri – 7 miles
Sat – 12 miles
Sun – Rest
For a whopping total of 34 miles! The 12 miler is a personal distance record! I am very sore today but excited for week 8! I can’t believe I’m only 3 weeks away from the halfway point in training! …and only 1.1 miles away from running a half marathon!
Well, I have work in the morning so I’m hitting the hay! Night everyone! Happy running 😀
Alright, so after last weeks lack of motivation, I really feel like I need to try harder to inspire myself and others around me. So, here are some inspirational pictures to get us motivated! Now get out there and make your dreams happen!
Sorry for the huge picture dump! Hopefully one strikes a chord with you. I will do a separate post soon that features words of inspiration! Have a great day everyone 😀
So, I ended up taking a much longer break than anticipated. I worked the last 6 days, and just had NO energy whatsoever. I had no motivation to run, all I wanted to do was sleep. But after the past day or two of catching up on rest, I finally returned from my 4-day hiatus from running…. thank goodness! I really need some inspiration and motivation! But today I did a 5 miler while my little brother skateboarded nearby and kept my mind off of the running. It was a blast! We just told stories the whole time… I love that boy!!!! He’s growing up so fast… He’s only half an inch shorter than me!
Anyways, let me know if you have any inspiration tips and tricks, because I sorely need some!
I just started Born to Run last night in an attempt to motivate myself to run. I am only 10 pages in or so, but I’m hopefully going to read some more tonight! I also started The Pinball Theory of the Apocalypse today, I’m borrowing it from a friend. Andddddd I have a midterm and paper due Saturday that I haven’t started! Andddd I have orientation for work on Friday, my grandma flying in Saturday, and a million other things going on….. So we’ll see how the week goes!
Also, I just discovered a new blog that I like called Enjoying the Small Things (www.kellehampton.com). I am an avid reader of the Whatever blog (http://megduerksen.typepad.com/whatever/) because I love her photography so much! But I stumbled across a post on the former blog about making a weekly bucket list, and it really struck a chord with me. One of my favorite suggestions was “Pay for someone’s order behind me in the drive through line.” I think that’s such a neat idea! I’m going to try that before the week is over, and I’ll let you know how it goes! But it also reminded me of the current active project on one of my all-time favorite blogs BOOOOOOOM (http://www.booooooom.com/). I have followed this site religiously for at least 3 years and love everything Jeff Hamada curates. The active project right now is called Booooooom Challenges and it correllates with the weekly bucket list. Right now the challenge is “Buy someone else lunch for absolutely no reason” and before it was something along the lines of “Smile at a stranger today.” This really inspired me as well. So, without further ado, here is my weekly bucket list:
- Pay for someone’s order behind me in the drive through line
- Smile at a stranger
- Run 7 miles
- Have a family movie night
- Read for an hour a night
- Start an art project
- Start core and balance in my training
- Do all of the scheduled workouts this week!
I am hoping that even though these are small things, they will add up to be something big! I love making people smile and I hope that I can make the most of my time at home with my family, the most of my time at work by helping my coworkers and guests, and the most of my free time by doing things I love!
Thanks for reading!
Sooooo, this morning I tried out a new app called MapMyRun, and it was pretty sweet! I ran with my phone, played music through Pandora, and every mile it would tell me the mile number, average pace, and current pace. It tracks your run via GPS and then you can review your stats over time. It also allows for training plans, and is fully customizeable. I really like it! So hopefully I’ll use it in the future. Only problem is, I’m not a big fan of running while holding a phone/ipod/etc. unless I’m on a treadmill.
This morning, I did 4 miles, and man was it rough. It was around 1pm and it was really hot, and I hadn’t eaten all day. So hopefully tomorrows run will be better!
